Art securing hardware is any hardware or fitting material used to hold artwork and the complete framing package in place. The correct choice depends on the frame material, usable rabbet depth, package thickness, and whether the artwork sits inside the rabbet, flush with the frame back, or projects beyond it.

Compare offset clips from flat through 1-1/4", small and large wood spring clips, push-point glaziers, a manual point driver with flexible or rigid points, and materials for specific panel or floater-frame installations. Match the fastener to the actual gap and project rather than choosing by appearance alone.

Measure before selecting an offset clip

Offset size describes the step in the clip, not the artwork size. Measure the difference between the back of the wood frame and the surface being secured. A flat clip is for a package that sits flush; a raised clip bridges a specific offset. Too little offset may not reach correctly, while too much can leave the package loose or place unnecessary stress on the fastener.

Keep every screw in solid frame wood

Screws used with offset clips or wood spring clips belong only in the wood moulding. They must never enter artwork, canvas, backing, mats, glazing, or the visible image area. Check screw length against the available wood thickness before installation. Compare the available picture framing screws when replacement screws are needed.
