This picture frame profile offers an eclectic mix of design elements that come together in a surprisingly cohesive fashion, giving way to a moulding that is rustic, old world, and country all in one.
The outer edge is a distressed brown, which drops into a lighter brown burl veneer scoop, followed by a small bead along the inner lip. Both edges of the burl are deckled, with a dusty warm gray finish that fills the crevices, representing the characteristics of rottenstone.
The associations that come to mind when viewing this moulding are leather, cowboys, and hard work. The sense of age and nostalgia are strong. For this reason, sepia toned photography or other muted, mono-chromatic colors would be an excellent pairing for this moulding, such as artwork that features horses, open fields, or dusty roads. Then again, it could also be appropriate to pair with antique maps or posters of old Renaissance paintings.
If this moulding interests you but is too small at 1 ¾” wide, consider V1350, which is a wider profile in this same color and finish. For the same width but different colors, try V1336, V1342, V1340, or V1334. And finally, consider that the rabbet depth is a mere 5/16”. If you need more depth, the larger profile would help accommodate that need as well.
