This rustic burl picture frame moulding features a unique array of charming characteristics that highlight the spirit of a western cowboy flare – from the feel of exotic ostrich leather boots, to the decorative styling of beads and burl.
The profile of this country western picture frame starts with a beaded inner lip that’s washed with a gray finish that represents western desert dust, followed by the deckled edge of a light burl veneer that rides up on the profile within a concave scoop. That scoop ends with another deckled edge of the veneer, and then the profile plateaus with a ¼” flat outer edge to finish the shape. The gray wash is present throughout the finish, along with distress markings throughout.
Some types of art that might pair best with this burl picture frame are paintings, drawings, and photographs of western themes like wild horses, cowboys, rugged desert landscapes, and scenes of ordinary country folks, perhaps relaxing on a rustic wooden porch. Additional ideas that may complement this picture frame include pictures of old furniture, antique signage, and anything that has a rugged feel.
Finally, consider that the rabbet depth is only 3/8”on this burl picture frame moulding. This means you’re probably better off framing works on paper or thin canvas boards, but stretched canvas might be too deep for this frame.
