Acid Etched
Overview
Acid etched glass is created through a chemical process in which hydrofluoric acid or related compounds are applied to the glass surface. The result is a frosted or matte finish that scatters light, reduces glare, and provides a softened appearance. This technique is widely used in both decorative applications and framing, where it helps diffuse reflections while still preserving visibility of the artwork.
How Acid Etching Works
