Should You Add a V-Groove to a Picture Mat?

In this video, we have a print, and we are placing a mat on the print, and the mat features a solid black core. The mat also has a decorative black line, and that’s called a V-groove.

We've cut a V-groove in this mat using our computerized production mat cutter. We cut a bevel halfway through the board in both directions, so the top layer of the mat is removed and the black core of the mat is revealed. It creates a decorative black line around the piece.
