Mat Board as Picture Frame Backing

Whether your mat board is merely a decorative paper product or an acid-free archival mat board, these 4-ply boards are the thinnest of any backing board options we offer. It’s not particularly rigid, so be aware of the possibility of bending and warping.

Both decorative paper and acid free mat backing boards are white in color. You’ll want to choose the acid free option if you have fine art. If you need something thin and you’re not concerned whether it’s acid-free or not, you can go with the paper decorative board and save a little bit of money.
