Choose small or large spring clips

Clip size affects reach and spring pressure. Confirm the open rabbet area, package thickness, and available wood before choosing. A deep rabbet alone does not prove that either clip will fit every package.

Install the mounting end in wood

Position the end with the single round hole on the back of the wood moulding. The included 1/2" screw passes through that hole into solid frame wood. The clip then curves inward so its rounded, hole-free end presses the backing. No screw or mounting hole belongs on the backing, mat, glazing, canvas, or artwork.

Use another fastener when the geometry calls for it

Spring clips work by pressure inside a compatible wood-frame rabbet. If stretched canvas projects behind the frame, an offset clip may be the appropriate geometry instead. Compare the complete art securing hardware selection and review how to fit art into a wood frame before installation.
