This hammered metallic wood picture framing fillet features a shiny two-toned finish over a thin scooped profile. Fillets are used to enhance the inner lip of a frame, or inside the window of a mat to create a “frame within a frame” portal look that draws the viewer into the art.
Dark wood picture frames that might pair nicely with this hammered metallic wood fillet include V549, V843, V1304, and V685. Matting colors from our acid free archival selection that possibly pair with this fillet include Fuzz 9612, Before Dark 9598, Pewter 9895, Urban 9595, Black Belt 9632, Twilight 9809, Underbrush 9603, and Olive Branch 9532.
Art items that are being matted should include a glazing option. It is also recommended that a glass spacer is used in conjunction with a fillet, to ensure that the acrylic glazing does not get scratched by contacting the fillet.
For items like stretched canvas paintings that don’t utilize mats and glazing, consider a stacked frame combination that includes a frame, a fabric frame liner, and a fillet such as F103. Fabric frame liners to consider include 2” White Linc-wt, 1 ¼” White Linb-wt, 2” Off White Linc-ow, 1 ¼” Off-White Linb-ow, and 1 ¼” Black Linb-bk.
