This classy, masculine, black vintage picture frame features a 1-3/4” profile width and 3/8” rabbet depth that’s perfect for important documents, degrees, awards, and also photographs or artwork on paper, such as charcoal and graphite drawings, fine art prints such as intaglio etchings, watercolor paintings, and original paintings on thin panels such as rigid hardboard or canvas boards.
The shape of the profiles starts with a 1-1/4” flat strip that makes up the body of the profile, which is finished in black over an embossed, textured, thin gesso base. The profile then steps upward nearly a 1/4” to accentuate a vintage silver finish along the flat outer edge.
The look of this picture frame pairs well with images of old motorcycles, leather jackets and the open road, and perhaps law degrees, or images that are reminiscent of tweed fashions, cigar culture, and certain post-modernist arenas of intellectual thought, such as non-objective drawing.
Possible matboard color combinations that might complement this black and silver vintage picture frame include selections from our acid free archival offerings, such as Pewter 9895 and Etched Black 5598, Before Dark 9598 and After Dark 9599, and Olive Brach 9532 with Jet Black 9848.
