This 1.5-ounce tube of silicone adhesive is intended for attaching art to a panel or securing a panel within a canvas floater frame. It is an adhesive fitting method, so it is most appropriate when the selected surfaces and the permanence of the attachment suit the project.
Choose silicone when a concealed adhesive attachment is appropriate. For a panel that may need to be removed, compare this method with mechanical clips or adhesive-backed hook and loop before applying adhesive.
Framing shop note: Test adhesion on representative materials and keep adhesive away from the visible face of the artwork. Do not assume an adhesive is reversible or appropriate for an irreplaceable original.
Silicone creates an adhesive bond. Hook-and-loop fastener allows a compatible lightweight panel to be separated, while offset clips mechanically retain stretched canvas in a wood frame.
