GF is Gatorfoam made with an extruded polystyrene foam center bonded between wood-fiber veneer facings. This manufacturer-engineered construction provides greater rigidity, dimensional stability, and surface durability than regular paper-faced foam core.
The board is custom cut to the width and height entered. Its combination of low weight and rigidity supports projects that would benefit from a harder face without using a dense solid panel.
Choose Gatorfoam for photographs, graphics, signs, displays, and mounting applications where surface hardness and rigidity are more important than conservation properties. It can also provide substantial backing for compatible projects.
The hard wood-fiber veneer facings resist dents and scratches, while the board cuts and routes cleanly for fabrication. Gatorfoam is intended for interior framing, signage, exhibits, displays, printing, painting, and mounting. This product is not identified as a conservation material and should not be treated as an acid-free alternative for valuable or irreplaceable artwork.
Mounting specialist note: Gatorfoam is selected for rigidity and surface durability. Choose the mounting method separately, because a hard support board does not determine whether an attachment is removable or permanent.
