FcAf4PlyC includes two separate conservation-oriented boards cut to the same ordered dimensions: Bainbridge Artcare acid-free foam core and Crescent Select four-ply conservation matboard.
The matboard can provide an artwork-facing support layer while the foam core adds rigidity behind it. Ordering the pieces together coordinates their width and height without selecting two products separately.
Choose this combination for photographs, prints, documents, and works on paper that benefit from an acid-free matboard support backed by a separate rigid foam-core layer.
The Artcare foam core uses MicroChamber technology designed to absorb and neutralize airborne pollutants. Crescent identifies Select as a conservation-grade matboard collection with fade- and bleed-resistant pigmentation. The two boards remain separate rather than being laminated together; their combined thickness uses more package depth than a single board, and mounting materials are not included.
Mounting specialist note: The matboard can face the artwork while the foam core supplies secondary rigidity. Select hinges, corners, or another attachment method according to the artwork and the need for future removal.
This set contains two separate components. These videos explain acid-free foam board and the use of matboard as backing.
