Black FrameTek EconoSpace with 1/8" Airspace

FrameTek EconoSpace is a neutral-pH plastic picture-frame spacer that creates a 1/8" airspace between artwork and glass or acrylic. Its peel-and-stick acrylic adhesive bonds to the edge of the glazing, allowing the spacer to work in either a wood or metal picture frame.

Separating artwork from glazing helps reduce the risks associated with direct contact, including adhesion, image transfer, paper buckling, and uneven moisture exposure. FrameTek identifies EconoSpace as plasticizer-free and suitable for photographs, watercolors, pastels, paper art, and documents.

Choosing the Airspace and Color

The 1/8" dimension is the distance this profile holds the artwork away from the glazing. Compare it with the available rabbet depth and the thickness of the entire package before ordering. Black creates a dark edge and can visually coordinate with dark frame rabbets or presentation materials.

Ordering and Installation

The spacer is supplied slightly longer than the ordered size so it can be trimmed for an exact corner fit. Spacer orders over five feet will be spliced. Cut with a suitable sharp tool and support or miter the top-piece ends rather than relying on adhesive alone.
