White 3/4" Shadow Box Walls

These white adhesive-backed foam-core walls create a 3/4" separation between the glazing and mounting board inside a deep wood picture frame. They form the finished interior sides of a shadow box while helping prevent dimensional objects from being pressed against the glass or acrylic.

Shadow box walls can be used when displaying jerseys, memorabilia, awards, emblems, badges, and other dimensional objects. The walls establish space; the artwork or object still requires an appropriate mounting method, backing, glazing, and frame.

Choosing the Correct Wall Depth

Measure the usable rabbet depth behind the frame lip, then account for the glazing, mounting board, backing, fitting hardware, and the object itself. As a general starting point, the wall is often selected about 1/4" shallower than the frame rabbet, but the complete package determines what will physically fit.

Installation and Custom Sizing

Place the glazing in the frame first, attach the adhesive side of each wall to the inside wood rabbet, and position the mounting board or backing behind the completed walls. When shadow box walls are ordered without a frame, they are supplied slightly oversized so they can be trimmed with a sharp razor blade for the actual frame.

When trimming, measure each side of the frame rather than assuming every opening is perfectly square. Keep the adhesive and cutting tools away from the artwork and visible glazing area.
