This fluted, concave scooped, metallic silver picture frame features a unique profile shape, in which the inner lip ascends to a ridge and then descends in a concave fashion toward the outer edge. The profile width is 2”, and the rabbet depth is 1/2”.
The warm metallic silver finish is reminiscent of a seashell, and the fluted ridges that are perpendicular to the main linear ridge all emphasize the sheen and almost opal quality of the warm silver finish.
Due to the limited 1/2” rabbet depth, this fluted, concave scooped, metallic silver picture frame is best suited to prints, posters, and original fine art on paper, such as watercolors and drawings, along with thin canvas boards and beveled mirrors.
Themes that work very well in this bright, light, and silver picture frame include seashells, beach scenes, starfish and sea anemones, and still life paintings such as floral bouquets, porcelain or clay vases, and perhaps Mediterranean landscapes featuring light colored architecture on ocean hillsides.
