Ideal floating canvas frame for art 1-1/2" thick or less. This wood floater frame profile represents a unique adaptation of the floating canvas concept. The blocky 1-1/2” width of the profile face, along with a substantial 2” outer depth create the feeling of a strong, solid, and substantial picture framing option worth noticing, and a finish that represents vintage painted metalwork.

Traditional floating canvas frames are intended to be less noticeable, so that your eye is focused on the art. In the case of this wide and blocky floater frame, the shape and finish are designed to complement the color and feel of your art in order to enhance the imagery.

The finish features a painted, bluish-gray mid-tone color, with a look of rust along the edges of the flat surfaces. A subtle dusting of rust color implies age and weathering of a metal substrate, but the moulding itself is a solid wood.

This floating canvas art frame is ideal for vintage art and signage, particularly of a country feel. Nostalgic illustrations such as winter farm scenes are appropriate, as well as early to mid-century abstract paintings in cool tones. Finally, consider this artwork for various rigid panels, from encaustic wax paintings, to metal signs, to hardboard panel paintings in oil or acrylic.
